How to use these tests

How to use these tests

Tests are ready on arrival. The large area records five mouse buttons and scroll direction; the other panels measure movement and left-click timing independently. Reset a panel or clear the whole session at any time.

Move steadily inside the sampling area. The estimate uses event timestamps and coalesced samples when available. Browser scheduling, input devices and power settings affect the observed rate; it is not a hardware certification or a latency measurement.

Two presses within this interval are flagged for review. Intentional double-clicks also count; this does not diagnose a switch fault.

Trails show the coordinates reported by your browser without curve smoothing. Move out of the area to end a trail. Touch and pen can draw here, but their data do not enter mouse-rate tests.

Default right-click menus, middle-click actions and scrolling are suppressed only in test areas. Some browser or operating-system shortcuts, including side-button navigation, may still take priority. Losing window focus interrupts a timed run and releases button indicators.

Test signals stay in this page and disappear when you leave. Clicks, timings and movement trails are not uploaded.

Questions

Can this confirm a mouse hardware fault?

Compare the highlighted buttons and scroll directions with your physical actions. Fast click pairs can be intentional, and browser event rates can differ from device settings. Repeated unexpected results are a reason to investigate, not a hardware diagnosis.
