Case Converter — UPPER, lower, Title Case

Free case converter. Switch text to uppercase, lowercase, title case, or sentence case in one click.

Fixing inconsistent casing

Casing bugs look cosmetic and cause real failures. An environment variable read as DATABASE_URL while it was exported as database_url is simply undefined, a CSS class compared as PrimaryButton never matches primarybutton, and a JSON key sent as userName is not found when the server expects username.

The convention you want depends on the target. UPPER_SNAKE_CASE for environment variables and constants, camelCase for JavaScript and Java members, snake_case for Python and SQL columns, kebab-case for URL slugs and CSS class names, and Title Case for headings and titles.

Watch identifiers that should not be converted wholesale. An acronym is the usual casualty: converting OAuth2Token character by character produces something no human would write, and it still reads as correct in review. Convert field by field when a name contains an acronym or a version number.

FAQ

How does Title Case work?
It capitalizes the first letter of each word and lowercases the rest.
Good for SEO titles?
Useful for drafts; always proofread brand names and acronyms.
Does it support non-English?
It follows Unicode letter casing for most Latin scripts.
What is the difference between Title Case and sentence case?
Title Case capitalises each significant word and leaves short joining words lower, while sentence case capitalises only the first word and any proper nouns. Headlines commonly use one and body copy the other, so pick per surface and apply it consistently rather than mixing both in one document.
How do I convert text to snake_case or camelCase?
Split the original on spaces, hyphens, underscores and case boundaries first, then rejoin. Splitting only on punctuation fails on camelCase input, because the boundary is an uppercase letter rather than a separator, which is why some names convert correctly and others do not.
Why did non-English text convert unexpectedly?
Case mapping is language dependent. Turkish treats the dotless and dotted i differently from English, so an uppercase conversion that is correct elsewhere produces a letter a Turkish reader does not expect. For display text, prefer letting the locale decide rather than forcing a conversion.
